Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

There are so many recipes for these biscuits floating around Pinterest and a few blogs...that I decided to try one. Guess what? These are GREAT! I think Bisquick biscuits are wonderful...but these little guys are REALLY good! The first bite I had I could detect a faint 7-Up flavor...big surprise, huh? Anyway...if you want an easy pan of biscuits...give these a try!

7 UP  Biscuits

2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup 7-up
1/4 cup melted butter

Cut sour cream into biscuit mix, add 7-Up. Makes a very soft dough.

Sprinkle additional biscuit mix on board or table and pat dough out. Cut out biscuits using a 2 inch cutter.

Melt 1/4 cup butter in a 9 inch square pan.

Place cut biscuits in pan, flip over to butter the other side.

Bake at 450 degrees until golden brown.

Makes 9 biscuits.

This really is all you need.

Combine the Bisquick
and the sour cream.

Then add the 7-Up.

Pat out the dough...about 3/4 - 1 inch thick.
Cut about 9 biscuits.

Melt the butter in the pan then
place the biscuits in the pan.
Flip them over to butter the other side.
Bake!!

Aren't they pretty?? They were yummy, too!
