Welcome!

Welcome to Simple Fare, Fairly Simple. This is a place for me to post recipes of all kinds...along with other miscellaneous fodder from my so-called life here in the south. Who knows what you will find here. Could be anything from my husband...known as IT Guy...to my kids and beautiful grandbabies that are growing up way too fast right before my eyes. But...mostly this will be a place for food. I hope you'll see something you like and if you decide to try something from the list...leave me a comment and let me know!

Have you ever been to Jack in the Box or Sonic and ordered their jalapeno poppers? You know those little halved jalapenos with cheese that are breaded and deep fried? Well...those are some of IT Guy's favorite things. So when I made, then tasted, this dip, I told him it was JUST like those little popper things. Now...he didn't exactly agree with me 100% but he DID enjoy this dip. I think he said something like..."this stuff is dangerous". I took that as a compliment.

Green Chili Dip

1 cup sour cream
1 8-ounce package cream cheese
2 tablespoon taco mix
1 4-ounce can diced green chilies
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Mix all ingredients in a medium sized bowl.

Transfer to a greased baking dish.

Bake for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.

Serve with tortilla chips.

Here's the line-up. Oops...I forgot the salt.
If you like things more on the "hot" side,
just use chopped jalapenos instead of the green chilies.

Mix everything in a bowl until well combined.

Then spread in a small, greased baking pan.
I think this one is about 7x11 inches.

Bake at 375 until hot and
bubbly then serve with chips!
